Senate Assembly Annual Conference

The South West Clinical Senate Assembly annual conference was attended by over 80 clinicians and public representatives in March. The conference explored the role of ‘Clinicians as Change Agents’ through lectures and workshops centred around 4 themes:
- Influencing the System
- Influencing Society
- Embracing Change in Practice
- Relationships with Patients
Speakers included author and doctor Sir Muir Gray and Radio 4 journalist Michael Buerk.
The conference received excellent feedback, which delegates describing the event as highly interesting and educational.
Following the conference, delegates were invited to enjoy a cream tea hosted by the South West Academic Health Science Network and Sir Muir Gray who used the conference to promote two new initiatives for public health; activity therapy and value improvement.
