Chair of South West Clinical Senate

Sally Pearson MBChB, MPH, FFPHM

Sally was appointed as Chair of the South West Clinical Senate in September
2017. She is a specialist in public health medicine with over 20 years of
experience at Board level in both commissioning and provider organisations,
as Director of Public Health for Gloucestershire and as Director of Clinical
Strategy for Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS FT.

Debbie Rigby

Debbie recently retired from the NHS where she worked for over 40 years. She still supports the seasonal COVID-19 vaccination programme in Mendip and visiting local care homes to offer booster vaccinations.

Debbie worked for many years for the Somerset Clinical Commissioning Group improving patient experience, safety, and quality of care.

Maggie Rae FFPH, FRCP (Hon) FRCP Edin, FRCPath (Hon), FFOM (Hon), FFSRH (Hon)

Maggie Rae is President of the Epidemiological and Public Health Section of
the Royal Society of Medicine. She is also Head of School for the SW Region
Public Health Specialist Training and Deputy Director – Regional Public Health
Programmes, NHS England SW Region.

Bruce Daniel BSc, FIBMS

I am the Head of Pathology for the South-West region of NHS England and continue to be an HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist.

Previously I have been a Pathology service manager, a Pathology Incident Director across the Peninsula Pathology Network (Devon and Cornwall) during the covid pandemic, and a member of the Peninsula Pathology Network board.

Peter Davis MB ChB, MRCP(UK), FRCPCH, FFICM

After qualifying, trained in paediatrics, specialising in paediatric intensive care in UK, Canada and Australia, before returning home and starting as a consultant in Bristol in 2003. PICU clinical lead from 2007-2012, before taking on national roles with NHS England, the Paediatric Intensive Care Audit Network (PICANet) and the British Paediatric Surveillance Unit.

Carol Stonham MBE, MSc, RN, Queen's Nurse

Following 26 years in nursing in general practice Carol now works at Gloucestershire ICB Respiratory Clinical Programme Group and is CYP Asthma Clinical Lead. Carol is also a co-clinical lead of the NHSE Southwest Respiratory Network.

Programme Director, Research & Evaluation and Vaccinations, gloucestershire ICB.

Marion is the programme director (SRO) for the county's vaccination programme.  She is also the ICS lead for Research and Evaluation.

Bernie Marden BSc MBBS MRCP FRCPCH LLM

Having attended medical school in London, bernie trained in paediatrics in Wessex and vancouver.  Following his appointment as Consultant Neonatal Paedatrician in bath in 2004 he held a number of leadership roles including Head of Women and Children's, Chief Clinical Information Officer and ultimately, Medical Director of the Trust from 2017.

Deputy Head of Clinical Development (Organisational Learning) | Paramedic, South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust.

I have worked in the ambulance service since November 2008 and been a registered paramedic since February 2013. I moved to a clinical leadership role in November 2016 and still clinically practice as a paramedic.

I am a neurosurgery registrar based at Derriford Hospital. Alonside my clinical work, I am alkso an NHS England South West Leadership fellow and currently trying to investigate the impact of generational differences in the workplace.

Consultant Paediatrician and Neonatologist (retired) Royal United Hospitals Trust Bath. Steve is an experienced Paediatrician and Neonatologist from Bath. He was clinical lead of the Western then South West Neonatal network for 15 years. Initially setting up the network in 2005 and then maintaining and developing the service.
